Booz Allen's Employee Onboarding Program
Booz Allen supports new hires to ensure they have all the critical information necessary to ramp up in their roles and contribute their talents and expertise to meaningful client work. New hires receive access to an onboarding portal prior to their start date, attend firmwide orientation on days one and two with the firm, and continue on the onboarding journey throughout their first year – until their first annual summary. We support new hires as they build relationships with a diverse network of colleagues across the firm and receive regular feedback on their development from their career manager and peers.
Booz Allen’s New-hire Firmwide Orientation (NFO) provides new hires an understanding of the firm’s organizational structure, ethics and compliance policies, and culture. The course uses discovery-based learning to create an interactive and engaging experience in which new hires learn about the Booz Allen experience and have early networking opportunities through direct exposure to the firm’s leadership and colleagues seated at cross-functional table teams.
In addition to NFO, new hires complete a series of follow-on training events within their first 90 days at the firm. This follow-on training includes a selection of self-paced activities designed to introduce them to resources and best practices for working at client-site locations, Booz Allen offices, and teleworking. New hires also complete group-specific orientations to ensure they gain familiarity with the broader market framework to which they are aligned as well as a deeper understanding of their specific teams and opportunities for career development. Additional resources and immersion programs for senior staff accelerate their learning about leadership roles and expectations.
The new hire’s career manager and new hire sponsor, an experienced teammate designated by the career manager and ideally aligned to the same work site as the new hire, conduct regular ‘check-ins’ starting in the new hire’s first week, to ensure that the new hire is on the path to a successful first year.
