PFLAG Honors Booz Allen for Its Diversity Initiatives
PFLAG, Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays of Metropolitan Washington, DC, has honored the firm with its "Excellence Through Diversity Award."
This award cites Booz Allen Hamilton's "outstanding support for its gay and lesbian employees, customers, and members of the community through its exemplary corporate policies and its dedication to community service, particularly service to the gay and lesbian community." Accepting the award on behalf of the firm at PFLAG's Honors Gala on March 29, 2003, was Senior Vice President Heather Burns, who serves as the firm's sponsor for GLOBE. "I think we are a company with the deeply held belief that difference is better than uniformity, that different backgrounds contribute different ideas, and different ideas lead to better ideas," said Burns.
