Booz Allen Hamilton offers a diverse number of benefits and programs that contribute to the overall health and well-being of our employees, including:
- Health and Wellness Service—managing wellness needs with the assistance of a trained health educator.
- Employee Assistance Program—assisting employees and family members through confidential counseling.
- Blueprint For Wellness—an on-site health diagnostic program that provides a detailed explanation of 30 health screening tests and what the results mean.
- Discounts at select health clubs throughout the United States.
- Firm-sponsored sports leagues
- Corporate Conditioning—a strenuous group exercise program available at our McLean and Ballston locations.
In addition to sports leagues, for which Booz Allen typically provides a portion of the registration fees, the firm provides funding for a number of other employee welfare programs. These are as wide-ranging as chess clubs, Weight Watchers, and county and city sports leagues.
Charlie Givans, who has been with the firm for 27 years, now manages the budget for funding of employee welfare programs firm wide.
"There have always been sports leagues, but as we grew and formalized, we decided it's good business. It's good for employees to socialize outside of work, and we think it's important to provide funding for these programs."
Booz Allen also recruits employees for participation in active, fund-raising events such as the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Light the Night, Special Olympics, Walk to D'Feet ALS, and many more.
"Obviously the walks offer great health benefits. It's also true that the camaraderie is great," said Susan Walker, who recruits volunteers for these events. "Volunteering within the community is also healthy. It becomes a passion, and the people you meet at these events become your friends...and those friends enrich your life."
Offering and supporting the benefits and programs that keep our employees healthy and well is another way in which Booz Allen Hamilton promotes work-life balance.
