Booz Allen Ranked in Top 10 for Best Consulting Company and Top 100 for Working Mothers
Consulting Magazine and Working Mother put Booz Allen on top.
McLean, VA, September 12, 2005 — Booz Allen Hamilton today announced it has earned top praise from those who know it best: the company's employees. Booz Allen was named one of the "Top 10 Consulting Firms," by Consulting Magazine, and also has been named for the seventh consecutive year to Working Mother magazine's list of "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" for 2005—the industry benchmark for family-friendly companies.
Consulting Magazine developed its rankings by surveying more than 5,000 U.S.-based consultants at 32 firms. Firms were scored by their employees' responses to questions in six equally weighted categories: Leadership, Compensation & Benefits, Culture, On the Job, Work/Life, and Career Development. Editor in Chief Jack Sweeney noted that the top-ranked firms set a standard for the entire industry: "The professional lives of consultants can only improve, as these top firms demonstrate that people remain the ultimate competitive advantage."
Working Mother also surveyed employees and reviewed detailed information on family-friendly policies for each company. Particular weight was given to flexible scheduling, child-care options, and time off for new parents, categories that highlight the importance for companies to help working mothers balance their work obligations with a satisfying personal life.
"We salute Booz Allen for their efforts on behalf of working mothers, and for making the 100 Best for the seventh time," said Carol Evans, CEO of Working Mother Media. "It is my hope that other companies around the country learn from the best and experience first-hand the value of flexibility as a business imperative."
