Booz Allen Takes the Number Two Spot on Training Magazine's Top 100 List

Firm also named "Best in Class" for the third year in a row.

Booz Allen Hamilton climbed another two spots to take second place in Training magazine's 2005 Top 100 list. The firm was also recognized for the third year in a row as "Best in Class" in the Professional Services Company category. IBM held the number one spot on the Top 100 list for the second year in a row.

Booz Allen's overall ranking has continued to climb, and the firm has remained in the top 10 of Training magazine's Top 100 listing for the third year in a row.

With Booz Allen's rapid growth in 2004 and with some 400 to 500 new hires each month, the firm's Center for Performance Excellence also grew in tandem by nearly 50 percent — from 49 to 72 trainers. "I'm lucky to have an incredible team," said Ed Cohen, Senior Director of the Center for Performance Excellence to Training magazine.

The Training magazine article says, "The Center for Performance Excellence uses the slogan, 'working in concert' to describe its alignment with business goals. The metaphor is fitting: While 16,000 employees on six continents work together as a symphony...the center builds and expands the learning culture that helps them stay in tune."

The team has done more than stay in tune with 32,000 participant days of training, 4,500 users of online self-study courses, 9,000 self-study courses completed, and 125,000 hits on the virtual online campus.

Training magazine also recognized Booz Allen's "outstanding initiative," PeopleTalk, a live radio broadcast via the firm's Intranet, where employees can hear about the latest happenings at the firm. Employees can listen live or download the broadcast or individual segments for a later time.
