Booz Allen Is One of FORTUNE's 100 Best Companies To Work For in 2005
Firm is the only GMC named to the magazine's Top 100 list.
Booz Allen Hamilton has been selected for FORTUNE Magazine's annual "100 Best Companies to Work For" list. Now in its eighth year, the list has included some of the country's most respected companies, including American Express, Hewlett-Packard, FedEx, Goldman Sachs, Pfizer, Microsoft, S.C. Johnson & Son, and Starbucks.

Booz Allen ranked 75th overall in its first year of participation, one of the highest-ranked professional services companies. Any U.S. company or U.S. operation of an international company that is at least seven years old with over 1,000 U.S. employees is eligible for consideration. In the large company category — companies with 10,000 or more employees — Booz Allen was ranked 23rd out of 37 companies. Other notable rankings included 3rd place in the total number of jobs added between 2003 and 2004 (2,463) and 5th place in terms of overall job growth rate (23%).
The "100 Best Companies to Work For" list, compiled by the Great Place to Work Institute in San Francisco, is based on two criteria: an evaluation of the policies and culture of each company, and the opinions of the company's employees. Several hundred randomly selected employees filled out a survey, and their opinions accounted for two-thirds of the total score. The remaining one-third of the score is based on an evaluation of each company's demographic makeup, pay and benefits programs, and culture. Companies are scored in four areas: credibility (communication to employees), respect (opportunities and benefits), fairness (compensation, diversity), and pride/camaraderie (philanthropy, celebrations).
The list is available at www.fortune.com, and will appear in the January 24, 2005, issue of FORTUNE, available January 17.
