Training Organization Says Booz Allen Is the BEST in 2003
The American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) awarded Booz Allen Hamilton one of its first annual BEST awards at a ceremony held on October 31, 2003, in Washington, DC.
ASTD recognized 23 organizations in six countries with BEST awards for fostering, supporting, and leveraging enterprise-wide learning for business results. Booz Allen received an 8th place ranking overall.
"The winners of the 2003 ASTD BEST Awards 'get it'. They use learning as a strategic tool and have the support of senior leaders who champion a learning culture," said ASTD's Chief Operating Officer Tony Bingham. "These winners demonstrate that learning is vital to individual and organizational performance, training is not a discretionary item, and even in times of uncertainty and downturn, continued investment in employees is the key to future success."
In 2002, ASTD recognized Booz Allen with two Excellence-in-Practice Awards for its Intranet-based Virtual Campus and People Strategy Campaign and three Excellence-in-Practice Citations for the firm's Peer Coaching program and management training resources available on the Virtual Campus.
