Booz Allen Once Again Named to Training Magazine's Top 100 List - 2003

For the second year in a row, Training magazine named Booz Allen Hamilton to its 2003 Training Top 100 list. Each year this leading publication in the professional development field ranks the organizations that excel at what it calls "human capital development." Booz Allen rocketed up the list from 52nd in 2002 to 6th place in this year's rankings.

Booz Allen received kudos from the magazine for its tuition advancement program, which reduces the financial burden on staff members furthering their education. Participation in this program has increased from 12 to 30 percent. The university partnership program, which helps staff earn professional certificates and degrees, was also singled out. Through this program, more than 100 staff members have taken master's degree-level classes from Johns Hopkins University offered onsite at Booz Allen's worldwide headquarters.

"Thanks in part to our commitment to career development and training, Booz Allen's turnover rate is well below the industry average," said Ed Cohen, Senior Director of Booz Allen's Center for Performance Excellence. "Close to half of our new hires are referred to Booz Allen by current employees, and nine percent are comeback kids — staff members that have returned to the firm after sojourns with other companies."
