National Business & Disability Council Announces 2001 Award of Honor Recipients

Albertson, L.I., NY, October 12, 2001 — The National Business & Disability Councils' Awards of Honor program was created to recognize corporations and individuals that exemplify the goal of promoting opportunities for people with disabilities as employees and consumers.

The Council is dedicated to the successful integration of people with disabilities into the workforce and the consumer marketplace, and for more than 24 years has recognized corporations and individuals as leaders in their industries for promoting people with disabilities.

"The Awards of Honor commendations have a two-fold goal: to recognize tremendous personal achievement for individual recipients, and to heighten awareness among corporations that enhancing opportunities in the workplace and marketplace for people with disabilities makes smart business sense, " said Francine M. Tishman, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, Abilities, Inc.

The award recipients will be honored at the National Business & Disability Council's 24th annual conference taking place April 2002 in Orlando, Florida. "I am honored to be presenting these awards to the outstanding individuals and corporations that have shared with us and others their commitment to diversity," said Edmund L.
