100 Best Places to Work in IT - 2004

Computerworld placed Booz Allen in the Top 100 for the second year in a row.

IDG's Computerworld annually ranks the top 100 U.S.-based work environments for technology professionals based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training, and retention.

"The most-desired benefits have remained consistent in recent years," said Maryfran Johnson, editor in chief of Computerworld. "IT pros still want access to leading-edge technologies, training and flexible work schedules. But our Best Places companies often go beyond those measures to provide much deeper levels of job fulfillment."

Booz Allen Hamilton moved up from 39th place to 37th overall, and was rated #1 in the "Average Training Budget per IT Employee" category. Computerworld highlighted the fact that the firm's IT staff members are encouraged to work beyond their assigned teams and more collaboratively, identifying gaps in processes and services and building solutions.

"We are continually improving the work environment for our internal IT staff and are always looking for ways to help them develop their careers," said Booz Allen Senior Director Daniel Gasparro. "This recognition from Computerworld supports the firm's vision of being an employer of choice."

The Best Places to Work feature appeared in the June 14, 2004, issue of Computerworld and online at www.computerworld.com/2004bestplaces.
