Booz Allen Ranks in Top 10 of Companies with Best Family-Friendly Benefits

The firm’s outstanding health coverage for fertility treatments and financial assistance for adoptions are recognized by a national magazine.

Conceive Magazine’s spring 2008 issue named Booz Allen Hamilton to its Top 10 List of the 50 Best Companies with family-friendly benefits in adoption and infertility.

Says senior consultant Jennifer Rogers, “Conceive recognized Booz Allen for our generous health insurance coverage for fertility diagnosis and treatments and for our financial assistance for adoptions.” The firm received a “best” rating for infertility benefits and a “good” rating for adoption benefits.

Conceive Magazine surveyed the Fortune 200 companies and those on the Dave Thomas Foundation’s Adoption-Friendly Workplaces list to find those that offer the best benefits for employees who hope to become parents. The Dave Thomas Foundation was created by the founder of Wendy’s restaurants, who was adopted as a child, to help ensure more of the 140,000+ children in North America’s foster care system are adopted.

Booz Allen’s benefits for eligible employees include coverage for up to six attempts for artificial insemination (i.e, IUI), and up to four attempts at Invitro procedures (i.e., IVF). IUI is attempted fertilization that occurs inside the body; IVF is attempted fertilization that begins in a lab and continues when the embryos are transferred to the uterus.

Booz Allen also offers employees financial assistance of $5,000 per adoption with no lifetime cap, two weeks of paid leave for birth and adoptive parents, and 24 weeks of unpaid leave.
