Booz Allen Named to Training's Inaugural Top 10 Hall of Fame
The firm is recognized for the sixth consecutive year for its exceptional workforce training and development programs.
Training magazine has inducted Booz Allen Hamilton into its exclusive Top 10 Hall of Fame. It’s the sixth year in a row that the firm has been honored by the publication.
The firm qualified for the honor by ranking at least four consecutive times in the top ten of the magazine’s top 125 companies that demonstrate excellence in workforce training and development. Booz Allen has remained in the top ten for five years.
“At Booz Allen, learning and development is part of our culture,” says principal Aimee George-Leary, who accepted the award on behalf of the firm. “We view learning and development not as a benefit, but as a strategic imperative to move our business forward. To that end, the firm invests in the people and programs that enable this learning culture.”
Booz Allen’s training programs are effective because of the firm’s leadership involvement and the alignment of programs to the firm’s business strategy, says George-Leary. “We incorporate integrated learning methods that support diverse learning styles. In a 2006 internal study, we found that over 75% of the employees we polled strongly believe that the firm provides the resources needed to navigate their careers.
“Booz Allen employees learn from mentors, frontline leaders, subject matter experts, and from collaboration with their peers across a wide variety of programs,” she continues. “In addition, the output of the annual review process for all employees is about personal development and growth.”
Adds chief personnel officer Horacio Rozanski, “Our commitment to learning and development reflects our priority to preserve and enhance the value proposition for our people.”
Hall of Fame companies sponsored Training’s Top 125 companies at an awards gala February 4 at the 2008 Training Conference and Expo. Booz Allen will remain in the Hall of Fame for three to five years.
Training has ranked the top 125 organizations that excel at employee development for seven years. Companies complete a detailed questionnaire and rankings are based on criteria such as employee turnover and retention, training budget, best practices, new training initiatives, and leadership development. Final rankings are determined by a research and statistical company and Training’s editors.
For more than 40 years, Training magazine has advocated training and workforce development as a business tool for an audience that includes training, human resources, and business management professionals in all industries.
