At Booz Allen Hamilton, we strongly believe that innovation is a competitive advantage and the key to growth and shareholder value: Cost reduction alone cannot drive sustainable earnings growth. Our research shows that senior executives believe innovation is critical to achieving their strategic goals, and yet few are satisfied with their current performance.

Booz Allen's innovation experts help clients improve their innovation functions, including product development, research and development, and engineering, through: strategy setting; process and organizational changes; capability and technology tool building, and assessing scientific and technological robustness of offerings.  Our proven expertise in those areas, combined with the firm’s rich industry insight and unparalleled knowledge of more than 40 science and technology disciplines, enables the firm to identify strategies and processes that are at once technically and economically sound.

Booz Allen has long been a leader in helping organizations innovate more effectively.  From the 1950s, when we introduced the concept of product life-cycle management, in the seminal article “How to Organize for New Products” in the Harvard Business Review, and created the PERT methodology (predecessor to modern day project management) to streamline the U.S. Navy’s development of the Polaris Missile System, Booz Allen has been a trusted innovation advisor.

More recently, Booz Allen has completed more than 500 innovation-related engagements in the last five years, helping a broad range of corporate and public sector clients master their innovation challenges and build competitive advantage through innovation.
