
Dennis Doughty served as President of Booz Allen Hamilton's US Government Business before retiring in April 2009. He worked with clients in Defense, Security, and Civil government agencies. His functional capabilities included: strategy; operations; information technology; organization and change management; economic and business analysis; and information assurance/enterprise resilience.
Previously, Mr. Doughty led the firm's major business units in information technology and telecommunications. His leadership in those sectors resulted in unprecedented growth for the firm and external recognition of Booz Allen Hamilton as a top-quality provider of IT consulting services in the US public sector market.
Mr. Doughty has served clients such as the General Services Administration, the Department of Defense, the National Communications System, and the Department of Treasury, as well as telecommunications service providers, equipment manufacturers, state-owned enterprises, and government bodies in North America, Europe, and Latin America. His international assignments have ranged from helping commercial carriers prepare for competition in new markets, to aiding developing countries in the revitalization of their telecommunications industries in preparation for national redevelopment and growth.
Mr. Doughty is a former member of Booz Allen Hamilton's Board of Directors, chaired the Board of Trustees for the firm's retirement program, and has led the strategic market planning function for the firm's public sector business.
Active in professional associations in the communications and information technology fields, Mr. Doughty has published papers on advanced communications architectures and technologies, and has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences and symposia on the future of telecommunications systems and services. He was recognized by Federal Computer Week magazine with a "Federal 100 Award" for his contributions to the advancement of information technology solutions in the US Federal Government. In 2005, he was recognized as one of Consulting Magazine’s “Top 25 Consultants.”
Mr. Doughty is also active in the community. He is a Vice President of the Casey Key Association and also a member of the Advisory Council to the College of Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. He recently completed terms as a Board Member of the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts and the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Before joining Booz Allen, Mr. Doughty was a member of the technical staff at Bell Telephone Laboratories. There he participated in projects to develop telephone features for business and residential customers including the design of Centrex features for extensive service customization. He also analyzed the operational effects of new systems on Bell Operating Company procedures.
Mr. Doughty received his M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, and his B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Notre Dame. He was inducted into the National Engineering Honor Society, also known as Tau Beta Pi, in 2008
