
Senior Vice President Gene Bounds provides leadership for Booz Allen Hamilton’s U.S. Air Force and NASA markets by developing and applying financial and management control capabilities.
A retired Air Force officer with more than two decades of information technology and control system program implementation experience, Mr. Bounds specializes in acquisition strategy, contract execution, , and performance improvement capabilities. He leads the firm’s RightIT capability efforts, driving efficiencies across CIO organizations.
Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Mr. Bounds served as Chief Operating Officer at Robbins-Gioia, LLC and Civil Agency Sector Director at the Software Engineering Institute.
Mr. Bounds was elected to the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Board of Directors and served as Chairman of the PMI Board during calendar year 2010. PMI is the world’s leading professional membership organization for Project Managers. He is also a recipient of the Federal Computer Week Federal 100 Award, which recognizes executives having the greatest impact in the government information systems community.
He holds an M.S. degree in Information Systems from the University of Southern California and a B.B.A. in Information Systems from Texas Tech University. He also attended the Defense Acquisition University and is a Certified Project Management Professional.
