
Dr. Kurt Stevens, a Booz Allen Senior Vice President, serves both the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency(NGA), and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), leading the Space and Ground Systems sub-account. In this role, he is responsible for technical direction, cross-program integration, capability leverage, staffing and staff development, business management, and business development activities within his business areas as well as within the broader NGA, NRO and national security markets.
Kurt serves on the leadership teams for Booz Allen’s Security Market and Engineering and Operations Capability area. His key areas of expertise include:
Having spent over 30 years focused on the DoD and civil space market sector, Dr. Stevens’ work ranges from technology investment strategy development to operations analysis. He has supported commercial clients in the remote sensing market along with delivery in strategic planning, systems engineering, systems integration, and operations analysis for numerous government organizations. He and his team have developed programs from technology concept, through user/customer validation, to major development and operations.
Dr. Stevens joined Booz Allen in 1995 after retiring from the Air Force, where he held positions in development and operations and led numerous multi-agency teams investigating the phenomenology and collection of radio frequency and optical signals. He and his teams developed state-of-the-art sensors and data processing systems for ground, airborne, and space-borne applications. He also participated in national panels and drafted policy for Cabinet-level direction.
He has been an active member of the Leadership Pike's Peak Board of Directors since 2009.
Dr. Stevens holds a PhD and a M.S. degree, both in physics, from the Naval Postgraduate School. He also has a B.S. from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
