
A Booz Allen Hamilton Senior Vice President, Gordon Holder supports defense logistics initiatives for clients that include the Office of Secretary of Defense/Joint Staff, Regional Combatant Commands, Defense Logistics Agency, US Transportation Command, Joint Forces Command, and US Navy and Marine Corps logistics organizations. Mr. Holder leads the US Marine Corps business for the firm.
Mr. Holder is a leader in the firm’s Supply Chain & Logistics team, supporting the Joint Combatant Command and Navy/Marine Corps market. In this role, the team is at the forefront of all activities, analysis, and processes necessary to identify and create new capabilities and operational constructs to support war-fighting efforts.
Mr. Holder served more than 36 years in the US Navy, retiring as a Vice Admiral in 2004. With his Navy Surface Warfare experience, he collaborates regularly with the firm’s Navy Marine Corps professionals to serve clients across the maritime domain.
Significant Navy flag positions were Commander Naval Base Pearl Harbor and commander Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific; Command of Amphibious Group II in Norfolk, VA; Command of Military Sealift Command in Washington, D.C., where he was responsible for all civilian-operated ships for the Navy and US Transportation Command and directed worldwide operations of over 200 ships with an annual budget of $2 billion.
In September 2001, he was reassigned as Director of Logistics, Joint Staff, Pentagon. Mr. Holder directed the worldwide application of strategic logistics to support the Global War on Terrorism. Throughout Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, he coordinated the transportation of forces and support materials with the U.S. Transportation Command, individual services, and the Joint Chiefs.
The 2002/2003 recipient of the National Defense Transportation Association DoD Distinguished Service Award, Mr. Holder also earned the 2005 National Defense Industrial Association Logistician Emeritus Award for his work in logistics.
Mr. Holder is on the Board of Directors, National Defense Industry Association (NDIA); vice president of the Capital Council of the US Navy League; vice-chair of the National Defense Transportation Association; chair-elect of the Florida State University Foundation Board of Trustees; and is the former chair of the NDIA Executive Logistics Division and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Surface Navy Association of Greater Washington.
Mr. Holder earned an M.S. degree in psychology from Troy State University, an undergraduate degree in music education from Florida State University, and attended the Air Command and Staff College at Maxwell AFB.
