David Kletter

An Executive Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton, Dr. David Kletter is the leader of the firm’s Financial Services group and the firm’s New York office. In this role, Dr. Kletter is leading the development and delivery of new advanced solutions to a variety of financial institutions in the banking, capital markets, payments, and insurance sectors with a focus on strategic issues including “big data” and analytics, risk and regulatory compliance, financial crimes, and cyber security. He has worked with top management in Fortune 500 companies and with institutions in the public sector to create lasting improvements in their businesses.

Dr. Kletter is an experienced business strategist and leader. In his more than 20 years of client work, Dr. Kletter has led client engagements to assist top management with organizational effectiveness, growth strategy, private equity due diligence, industry strategic discontinuities management, emerging market strategy, and corporate portfolio assessments. He has experience in a broad variety of industries, including financial services, media and entertainment, consumer products, aerospace, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals. He has also pioneered the development of new businesses for the firm, building capabilities in predictive intelligence and social media analytics as a leader in the firm’s Strategic Innovation Group.

At an institutional level, Dr. Kletter has served on numerous governing bodies including the Executive Development Committee and Disciplinary Action Committee, and currently serves as a Trustee for the firm’s Employee Capital Accumulation Program (ECAP) which provides accrued benefits to employees for retirement.

A recognized thought leader, Dr. Kletter has authored or co-authored several studies and articles, including “Adventures in Corporate Venturing”, “A Global Checkup: Diagnosing the Health of Today’s Organizations”, “Treating the Troubled Corporation”, and “Shrinking Core-Expanding Periphery: The Relational Architecture of High Performing Organizations”.

Dr. Kletter earned four degrees from from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology: a B.S. degree in management, a B.S. degree in mathematics, an MBA, and a Ph.D. in management.
