Based in the Washington-Baltimore area, Angie Messer leads the Firm’s Cyber Futures business as the Innovation Service Officer (ISO) as well as the Cyber Functional Service Officer (FSO) in Booz Allen’s Strategic Innovation Group (SIG).
As the Cyber Futures ISO, she leads teams of cyber malware, incident response, and cyber forensics experts, engineers, data scientists, SIGINT/TECHINT, and threat intelligence experts as well as digital, dev ops, secure cloud, and SDN technology professionals, delivering on engagements across commercial, government, and international clients driving next generation cyber innovations and solutions. Key areas include Next Generation Enterprise Cyber Security to include Cyber Operations Solutions, Cyber and Entity/User Behavior Analytics, Threat Intelligence and TECHCraft, Encryption, Open Source Social Media Analysis, as well as emerging secure IoT Industrial Cyber Solutions for Telematics, ICS/SCADA, PNT/GPS, Space, Weapons System Platforms, and hardware/chip security.
Ms. Messer’s role as a Cyber Functional Officer is to drive talent management against key Cyber opportunities, place quality staff, and deliver Cyber opportunities and capabilities/intellectual capital to meet market demand globally. Ms. Messer also champions the talent development, strategic mobility, and associated innovative people model solutions for the Firm-wide Cyber business. She implements and fosters certification and process requirements to manage risk mitigation on complex cyber security engagements across the enterprise. As the Cyber FSO/ISO, Ms. Messer leads strategic alliances, partnerships, teaming, and ventures in the cyber domain.
Previously, she led the firm’s innovations in Predictive Intelligence Business. Core capabilities include Cyber, Insider4Sight, Global4Sight and TalentInSight that are supported by innovative products such as Financial Crimes Tool Suite, Cyber4Sight, and ThreatBase. Ms. Messer has also led teams and businesses in Emerging Technologies, Digital Services & Solutions, and Mission Solutions initiatives as well as the Army business within the broader defense market, including military operational commands, acquisition units, and service component commands providing engineering, technology, analytics, and management consulting services in key mission areas. She develops numerous solutions and strategies for clients in the areas of Information Technology, Enterprise Systems & Agile Dev Ops, Open Source, Secure Cloud Computing, Big Data & Business intelligence, program management, security systems, digital learning, organizational change, and talent management. A sought-after speaker, Ms. Messer has been featured at events for the Aspen Ideas Festival, National Ethics Conference, Washington Ideas Forum, Bloomberg Big Data seminar, Cyber Analyst conferences and summits, as well as RSA among others.
A former US Army officer, Ms. Messer has also worked as an account executive for a commercial organization in Australia. She later managed two major commercial businesses and launched a startup software development company. As a second-generation Cuban-American, she supports multiple diversity and volunteer initiatives for STEM, Latin American leaders, Wounded Warriors, and Veterans. Ms. Messer is a West Point Military Academy graduate who earned a B.S. degree in engineering management and holds an M.S. degree in management from the Florida Institute of Technology.
