Senior Vice President

David Aldrich

David C. Aldrich

David Aldrich is a Senior Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton’s McLean headquarters, where he leads the firm’s civil government business and works predominantly in the energy, environmental, and natural resource management sectors. He has extensive technical and management experience and has served a wide range of government, commercial, and international organizations.

Since joining Booz Allen in 1993, Dr. Aldrich has built and led a diverse staff of experts providing broad-based support to clients including federal agencies (e.g., the Departments of Energy, Interior, and Defense, Environmental Protection Agency, and Federal Aviation Administration), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), foreign governments, and multi-national corporations.

Much of his current focus is on the need and opportunities for alternative energy technologies, environmental conservation, and sustainable development.

Prior to joining Booz Allen, Dr. Aldrich was a group senior vice president at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), where he managed several organizations that provided energy and environmental analyses, energy and environmental policy and compliance reviews, nuclear reactor and fuel cycle licensing evaluations, and other services. He also served as president and CEO of Energy and Technology Management Corporation (ETM), a wholly-owned proxy company of SAIC.

Dr. Aldrich also worked at Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico, where he led the safety and environmental studies division and managed activities that spanned a variety of areas, including nuclear energy and fuel cycle analyses, environmental transport modeling, emergency response planning, risk code development and application, and many others.

Active in many university, national, and international organizations, Dr. Aldrich was chairman of the Nuclear Energy Agency’s Group of Experts on Radiological Accident Consequences, and a member of the National Academy of Sciences’ committee to assess the safety of the Department of Energy’s nuclear reactors. At a recent Aspen Ideas Festival, he organized and moderated a panel of experts on the subject of global water availability.

He has published more than 50 papers and reports, and holds a PhD and M.S. degree in nuclear engineering and a B.S. in civil engineering, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
