  History of Booz Allen 2006-07

2006 — At the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), in Davos, Switzerland, Booz Allen and WEF conduct an Influenza Pandemic Simulation for leading CEOs and senior executives from major corporations, private- and public-sector institutions, and governments to explore the implications of a widespread outbreak of avian flu.

2006 — For the second consecutive year, Fortune magazine names Booz Allen to its prestigious list of “The 100 Best Companies to Work For.”

2006 — Booz Allen’s fifth annual study of global CEO succession at the world’s largest 2,500 publicly traded companies, “CEO Succession 2005: The Crest of the Turnover Wave,” reports record-high turnover rates in 2005, but also finds signs that the trend may be peaking.

2006Training magazine recognizes Booz Allen as the top-ranked organization for staff development in its annual “Training Top 100” list. This is the firm’s fifth year on the list, and the first in the top spot.

2006 — Booz Allen Senior Vice President Gary Neilson is named one of Consulting Magazine’s “25 Most Influential Consultants” for 2006.

2006 — Ben Curtis captures the championship at the third annual Booz Allen Classic, held at the Tournament Players Club at Avenel, in Potomac, Maryland. Charitable donations reach a cumulative total of more than $2 million.

2006 — Booz Allen ranks 24th on Computerworld magazine’s annual list of the “100 Best Places to Work in IT.”

2006 — Staff grows to 18,000 and sales exceed US$3.7 billion for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2006.

2006 — The World Economic Forum names Senior Vice President Adam Bird to its prestigious Forum of Young Global Leaders Class of 2006.

2006 — For the second successive year, the U.S. edition of Vault.com, the online career information resource, ranks Booz Allen No. 1 in prestige in its list of the "Top 25 Technology Consulting Firms" and among the top four in prestige in its list of the "Top 50 Management and Strategy Consulting Firms."

2006 — A study by Booz Allen and the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS titled The State of Business and HIV/AIDS (2006) is presented on the opening day of the United Nations High Level Meetings on AIDS, by Booz Allen Vice President Peter Parry and Global Business Coalition President and CEO Richard Holbrooke, a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. 

2006 — In Frankfurt, Booz Allen cosponsors the debut of the Global Marketer Summit, which was attended by more than 150 chief marketing officers for around the world.

2006BusinessWeek magazine names Booz Allen to its inaugural list of the "Best Places to Launch a Career."

2006 — For the eighth consecutive year, Working Mother magazine chooses Booz Allen as one of the "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers."

2006 — Booz Allen places first in the American Society for Training & Development’s 2006 BEST Awards Program, which recognizes organizations that demonstrate enterprise-wide success through employee learning and development.

2006 — In London, Chairman and CEO Ralph Shrader presents the second annual Ben Stevenson Rising Star Award for Excellence in Dance to Steven McRae, soloist of the Royal Ballet.

2006 G.I. Jobs, the U.S. magazine that assists veterans in their search for civilian employment, names Booz Allen on of the nation’s "Top 50 Most Military-Friendly Employers."

2006Veterans Business Journal names Booz Allen one of 10 "Best Corporations for Veteran-Owned Businesses."

2006 — Booz Allen’s London office designates the British Red Cross its official charitywith the launch of a three-year strategic partnership. The firm will support more-effective emergency care, review information technology and retail strategies, and develop ideas for joint fundraising projects.

2006 — Vice President Carol Staubach receives a Lifetime Achievement Award from Women in Aerospace for 30 years of distinguished service in her field.

2006 — Booz Allen is a major sponsor of the second annual Aspen Ideas Festival, at which a dynamic mix of luminaries and global leaders discuss the world’s most pressing challenges. Firm leaders lead guide discussions in the Global Dynamics and Health tracks.

2006 — Booz Allen’s experts in the Middle East release "Public–Private Partnerships Keep Middle East Water Flowing," a widely cited paper that looks at the water sector’s current challenges and provides guidelines for governments pursuing privatization.

2006 — The second edition of Booz Allen’s Global Innovation 1000 study finds that a group of 94 "high-leverage innovations," including Toyota, Apple, Christian Dior, Google, and Caterpillar, spend less than their competitors on R&D, yet consistently outperform their industry rivals.

2006 — For India’s National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM), an IT industry trade organization, Booz Allen conducts the first comprehensive assessment of the global market for engineering and technical services. Finding that worldwide sourcing of innovation is growing far more rapidly than anticipated in such nations as India, China, Thailand, and Brazil, the report is widely cited by the press worldwide.

2006Women 3.0 magazine names Senior Vice President Heather Burns to its 2006 list of the Top 100 Women in Corporate America.

2007 — For the third consecutive year, Fortune magazine names Booz Allen to its annual "100 Best Companies to Work For" list.  

2007 — The National Capital Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society awards Booz Allen the “2006 Corporation of the Year Award” for the firm’s longtime support.

2007 — In China, Booz Allen is named one of "China’s Top Employers 2007 Shanghai Region" by the Corporate Research Foundation.

2007 — Booz Allen’s second annual Global Innovation 1000 study was recognized by Innovate Forum with a "Special Achievement Award for Advancing Innovation."

2007 — The World Economic Forum, Booz Allen, and other partners publish the first Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report, which explores the sector as a driver of economic and social prosperity and ranks 124 countries according to their appeal for developing the industry.

2007 — Employees number 19,000 and sales reach US$4.1 billion for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2007.

2007 — B’nai B’rith International, one of the world’s oldest and largest humanitarian and community action organizations, presents Chairman and CEO Ralph Shrader with its prestigious Distinguished Achievement Award for his commitment to philanthropic leadership and diversity education.

2007 — Booz Allen is named one of the "Top 100 Adoption-Friendly Workplaces" in the U.S. by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

2007 — The 2007 edition of the firm’s annual study of CEO succession at the world’s 2,500 largest public companies, first conducted in 2001, finds that nearly one in three departing CEOs left office involuntarily.

2007 — Booz Allen is named to Computerworld’s annual list of the “Best Places to Work in IT.”

2007 — Senior Vice President Mark Gerencser is named to Consulting Magazine’s list of "The Top 25 Consultants of 2007." 

2007The Vault Guide to the Top 25 Technology Consulting Firms ranks Booz Allen No. 1 in prestige among global competitors.

2007 — Booz Allen sponsors a major retrospective of Edward Hopper’s work at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., from September 16, 2007, to January 21, 2008.

2007 Consulting Magazine names Booz Allen to its list of "The Best Firms to Work for 2007.”"

2007Working Mother magazine names Booz Allen to its "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" list for the ninth consecutive year. The firm ranks among the Top 10 for the third time.

2007 — The third annual Booz Allen Global Innovation 1000 study finds that the world’s leading corporate innovators stepped up R&D spending in 2006, and that companies that more closely align their innovation model with their corporate strategy perform better.

2007 — For the second year in a row, Booz Allen makes BusinessWeek’s list of the 95 "Best Places to Launch a Career."

2007 — Senior Vice President Peter Mensing was named one of the "Top 5 Strategy Consultants for M&A" in the Netherlands by the Dutch weekly FEM Business.

2007Washingtonian magazine names Booz Allen to its biennial list of the "Great Places to Work" in the Washington, D.C., metro area. The firm has received this honor since the list’s inception in 1999. 

2007G.I. Jobs magazine names Booz Allen one of the “Top 50 Military-Friendly Employers” in the U.S. for the second year in a row. 

2007 — In Frankfurt, Booz Allen presents the second annual Chief Marketing Officer of the Year award to Wolfgang Blum, associate partner and CMO of Bionade, and Klaus O. Schmidt, CMO of ING-DiBa.

2007 — Booz Allen partners with the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria to bring together global leaders from business, government, and nongovernmental organizations to explore ways to fight growing HIV/AIDS and TB epidemics in emerging market economies. Recommendations are published in a report titled “A Global Consensus on Partnership.”

2007 — Booz Allen’s longstanding commitment to philanthropy is recognized by the Washington, D.C., chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, which gave the firm the presigious “Outstanding Corporate Partner Award.”

2007 — In the U.K., Booz Allen is named “Business in the Community of the Year” for its support of Chance to Shine, a nonprofit grassroots initiative that is reintroducing sustainable competitive cricket programs to state schools.
