Booz Allen Hamilton

TESS and Small Business

Commitment to Small Business

Booz Allen takes our commitment to small business very seriously.  We have a proven record of meeting small business goals.  The TESS team employs innovative methods to ensure we will exceed small business utilization requirements.

Why Booz Allen?

Booz Allen believes in contributing to the communities in which we work and in helping those citizens obtain a fair share of the economic opportunities that are available. Small business concerns and minority institutions make important contributions to Booz Allen by enhancing our competitive edge, our performance on specific contracts, and our bottom line. They also play a critical role in the future of our global economy.

To facilitate the use of small businesses under TESS, Booz Allen offers the following–

  • We have a Small Business Office that maintains an online portal and registration process for all companies interested in working with us.
  • Our SBO has again received a rating of Highly Successful from the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and the Small Business Administration (SBA) on our most recent (May 2007) audit by DCMA.
  • Since the inception of our mentor-protégé programs, we have successfully mentored more than 25 protégé firms through our various programs. In fact, the Department of Defense (DoD), Office of Small Business Programs, awarded Booz Allen the Nunn-Perry Award in 2005 for the success of its mentor-protégé relationship with a woman-owned, small disadvantaged IT firm.  Booz Allen won the award again, in March 2008, for the success of its mentor-protégé relationship with a US Army protégé, one of the TESS teammates. And in 2010, we earned the third Nunn-Perry Award for the third year in a row.

Booz Allen is committed to developing long-standing small business partnerships to support TESS. Please contact us to discuss our approach to exceeding this commitment.
