The Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) honored Booz Allen Executive Vice President Mike McConnell with its Annual William Oliver Baker Award for excellence in intelligence and national security at its annual awards gala June 10.
McConnell was recognized for his contributions during his 40 years of service in the military, government and industry.
Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, the recipient of the 2010 William Oliver Baker Award, said, "I was delighted to learn that INSA has selected Mike McConnell as its recipient of the 2011 William Oliver Baker Award. It has been a privilege to work closely with Mike over the years and witness firsthand his extraordinary leadership--during times of peace and while the nation is at war--in a variety of crucial defense and intelligence positions, including the Joint Staff J2, Director of the National Security Agency, and Director of National Intelligence. This award acknowledges his lifetime of accomplishments that have made our intelligence community more effective and our nation more secure."
