Booz Allen has been recognized once again by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE) as an excellent place to work. Supporting workplaces that benefit employees, communities and the environment, AWE is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping companies in the greater Washington, D.C., area become great places to work.
The Workplace Excellence Award highlights businesses that promote professional fulfillment and personal wellness at work, at home, and in the community. Award winners are evaluated in the following categories:
“Booz Allen has a range of work-life programs that enhance our employees’ ability to navigate their competing responsibilities of home, family and their personal lives “ says Work-Life and Wellness Manager, Natalie Jackson. “Whether employees experience changes that accompany various life events or home or community obligations, the firm strives to help them achieve work-life integration through its various programs and benefits.” The firm’s noteworthy work-life balance programs include onsite and near-site childcare centers; flexible work arrangements; diversity forums that provide opportunities to mentor, network, and share ideas; Women’s Agenda for the advancement of women; and commuter benefits that allow people to work closer to their home zip code.
The Alliance for Workplace Excellence will host its Annual Awards Luncheon on June 13, 2011, in Bethesda, Maryland. The theme for this year’s luncheon is “Workplace Excellence: The Way to Success.” Fifty-seven greater Washington, D.C.-area businesses—including Booz Allen—will be honored at the event with Workplace Excellence Awards. Additional companies will receive the Alliance’s awards for Wellness Trailblazers and EcoLeaders. “This award is further recognition of Booz Allen’s commitment to being an employer of choice and a best place to work,” says Natalie.
