Booz Allen to Receive Founders Award from Metro TeenAIDS
Booz Allen Hamilton is a recipient of the 2013 Founder Award by Metro TeenAIDS (MTA) in recognition of the firm’s “years of service and investment in DC youth.” MTA will present the award at its 20th Annual Auction, to be held on June 6 at the Embassy of Italy in Washington, D.C.
The award is given to recognize “the deep effect that Booz Allen Hamilton has had on efforts to end the HIV/ AIDS epidemic and support youth development in Washington, D.C. For more than a decade, the firm has supported MTA through board leadership, pro-bono technical support, staff volunteers, program support, and hundreds of thousands of dollars of corporate and personal investments in MTA’s programs and services.”
Booz Allen Executive Vice President Robin Portman said of the award, “Booz Allen Hamilton wants to invest in our community through supporting excellent organizations and leaders. We do this through financial support, both personal and corporate. More importantly, though, we provide professional services, board members – and weekend volunteer painting crews if we need to!”
Metro TeenAIDS provides resources to help young people fight AIDS and support each other. MTA is the only organization in the Washington DC-metro area focusing all of its efforts on the unique prevention, education, and treatment needs of young people.
