Vault Ranks Booz Allen as Top Technology Consulting Firm
In addition, the firm scored especially high among technology consulting firms in categories that include Training; Diversity (including minorities, women, and GLBT); and Work – Life Integration.
Staff who participated in the Vault survey also praised the firm’s work hours, travel requirements, compensation, and client roster.
Booz Allen has held first place on previous Vaults lists of leading IT consulting companies for three consecutive years. The Technology Consulting 25 is a new ranking, combining Vault’s former “Best to Work For” ranking with perceptions of the prestige of each competing firm.
“Booz Allen has always been a mainstay toward the top of our annual Technology Consulting Prestige rankings, and also performs strongly in numerous Qualify of Life categories,” says Vault’s managing editor Brian Dalton. “Job seekers get the best of both worlds there, and it shows in the firm’s rankings.”
The firm receives thousands of applications from job seekers who consider employment at the legacy firm a “resume booster.” Flexible schedules, support for telecommuting, and options for growth in “what directions you choose” also appeal to applicants, according to a Vault article accompanying the list.
To determine the Top 25 Technology Consulting ranking, Vault used data provided by the consultants as well as a formula that weighed issues Vault believes job seekers care about most:
- 25% culture
- 25% work – life balance
- 20% prestige
- 20% compensation
- 5% business outlook
- 5% transparency
