SVP Receives North American IT Leadership Award
AFCEA honors Mike McConnell for his contributions to national security.
AFCEA's Rocky Mountain Chapter and U.S. Northern Command presented Booz Allen Hamilton Senior Vice President Mike McConnell with its second annual North American Information Technology Leadership Award at the February 10, 2005, SpaceComm symposium.
General James E. Cartwright, Commander U.S. Strategic Command; VADM (Ret) Herb Browne, President of AFCEA Colorado Springs; Mayor Lionel Rivera; and Maj Gen Dale W. Meyerrose, USNORTHCOM/NORAD J-6; presented the award, which recognizes the leader who has made significant contributions to the advancement of Information Technology or C4ISR in support of the security of the United States of America.

Mike McConnell
McConnell leads Booz Allen's work for Information Operations clients and co-chairs two of the firm's business development investment campaigns. Prior to joining Booz Allen, McConnell, a retired Vice Admiral, served as Director of the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Intelligence Officer for the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS/J2) during the dissolution of the Soviet Union and Operation DESERT STORM. He remains engaged in the U.S. and international policy debate on encryption, electronic commerce, and the world of cyber vulnerabilities and potential threats.
