The Dedication of the Pentagon Memorial
In remembrance of our colleagues Gerald Fisher, Terence Lynch, and Ernest Willcher, and all those lost at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.
On September 11, 2001, Booz Allen Hamilton lost three members of its family in the terrorist attack on the Pentagon: Gerald Fisher, Terence Lynch, and Ernest Willcher.
On the seventh anniversary of that event, the dedication of the Pentagon Memorial will honor and remember all those lost in the tragedy.
Located along the western face of the Pentagon, the Memorial consists of 184 memorial units, representing the lives lost at the Pentagon on 9/11. Each memorial unit consists of a cantilevered bench, a glowing pool of light, and an inscription of the person’s name.

Fifty-nine benches face one direction and 125 face the other, distinguishing those on board American Airlines Flight 77 from those who were inside the Pentagon. When visiting a memorial dedicated to an individual lost at the Pentagon, the visitor will see that person’s name and the Pentagon in the same view; visitors to memorial benches honoring those lost on Flight 77 will see the individual’s name and the sky.
Booz Allen proudly supports the Pentagon Memorial and contributed to three of the benches in honor of Geep, Terry, and Ernie.
Senior Vice Presidents Joe Garner and Gary Mather, and Vice Presidents Natalie Givans, Dov Zakheim, Angie Messer, Karen Dahut, and Joe Logue will attend the formal dedication on September 11, 2008.
“It is our hope that the memories of our colleagues will be further honored by the Pentagon Memorial, and that it will serve as a reminder to future generations of the great sacrifices individuals have made, and continue to make, for our nation and our freedom,” said Booz Allen Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Ralph Shrader.
