San Antonio Business Journal Again Names Booz Allen as a Best Place to Work
Compelling work and an expanding roster of prominent clients have helped the San Antonio office maintain its award-winning status for three consecutive years.

Booz Allen Hamilton’s office in San Antonio has been chosen from more than 200 regional contenders as one of the 2008 “Best Places to Work” by the San Antonio Business Journal.

This is the third consecutive year that the firm has won this award, and the third year Booz Allen was ranked by the newspaper as one of San Antonio’s top 10 “best places to work” in the large business category.

Paul Doolittle“Consistent with the firm at large, Booz Allen’s San Antonio office offers an attractive balance of challenging work, important and diverse clients, and a supportive work environment,” says vice president Paul Doolittle, who accepted the award on behalf of the firm at a luncheon on June 5. “We keep our focus on client service and our people, and constantly strive for improvement in both.”

In keeping with San Antonio’s “Military City” slogan, the office primarily supports Department of Defense clients. As a result of a 2005 BRAC, however, the city is gaining new agencies and missions, which are translating into exciting opportunities for Booz Allen in areas that include military medical services, military installations, and environmental initiatives across the U.S. Air Force and Army.

“The San Antonio office continues to contribute to and share in Booz Allen’s growth by successfully executing a portfolio strategy that is closely linked to the firm’s broader market priorities,” Doolittle adds.

The Best Places to Work award is based on information obtained from an anonymous survey distributed to the staff of all qualifying area organizations. To qualify, at least 50% of an organization’s staff must complete the survey; more than 60% of Booz Allen’s San Antonio staff participated. Survey results are tabulated by a market research firm.

Survey criteria included trust in co-workers and senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement, alignment with goals, and retention risk.

“Our staff referenced our professional and flexible work environment and our collaborative approach to client service as especially valuable to them,” says associate Lynne Thompson.
