Ms. Burns led the Booz Allen team that designed and hosted a 2003 pro bono wargame for senior Indian industry and government leaders to identify solutions to HIV/AIDS in their country. The findings were covered in the Financial Times and praised by Tommy Thompson, who was serving as US Secretary of Health and Human Services at that time. Two teams she has led—FDA Adverse Event Reporting System and the aforementioned India HIV/AIDS epidemic strategic simulation—received Booz Allen’s Professional Excellence Award (PEA), given in recognition of outstanding and innovative client service.
