COMTO Honors Booz Allen with Two Diversity Awards
Firm receives two awards for its support of minority professionals in the transportation industry.
Booz Allen Hamilton received two awards at the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) National Meeting and Training Conference held July 7-12, 2006, in Austin, Texas.
COMTO honored Booz Allen with the Corporate Citizen of the Year Award, which is given each year to the corporation that has provided “above and beyond” support. This includes supporting COMTO’s efforts to promote diversity and economic development of small and emerging businesses, contributing to the transportation needs of the community, and setting benchmarks for leadership.
McLean-based Associate, Kahlil Allen, now a three-year member of COMTO, accepted the Corporate Citizen of the Year Award on behalf of the firm. “Booz Allen believes in COMTO and its mission to promote diversity within the transportation industry,” said Allen. “We are committed to supporting such an organization that consistently returns tangible services in the form of education, knowledge sharing, and professional development to minority individuals and businesses within the transportation community.”
Booz Allen also received the Leadership Partner Award in recognition of its sponsorship of the inaugural Historically Underutilized Business Connection event, which provided a forum for small minority-owned businesses to introduce their company and their service offerings.
Booz Allen Senior Vice President Ghassan Salameh leads Booz Allen’s global transportation business and has spearheaded the firm’s involvement with COMTO for many years.
