Booz Allen Named 2003 Government Contractor of the Year

Greater Washington-area government contractors honored for their standards of excellence and contributions to the community.

Booz Allen Hamilton has been named 2003 Contractor of the Year in the $500+ million annual revenue category. The award, given for the first time this year by the Professional Services Council, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, and Washington Technology magazine, recognizes the firm for its outstanding contributions during the past year to its employees, the government contracting industry, and the U.S. government.

Dennis Doughty, President of Booz Allen's Worldwide Technology Business, accepted the award on behalf of the firm at the October 16 awards gala held in Tysons Corner, Virginia. "The U.S. federal government is our largest and most important client, so being named 'Contractor of the Year' is a most special honor," said Doughty. "I would like to salute our clients — the executives and managers of the U.S. federal government who serve our citizens every day — partnering with them is what makes it possible for Booz Allen to do important work that makes a difference."

Firm Also a Commercial Consulting Leader

Earlier this year, independent research firm Kennedy Information rated Booz Allen #1 in both performance and favorable client perceptions. The firm received the highest overall ranking in the performance category of the 17 management consulting firms studied. Performance was evaluated based upon expertise, implementation, price, quality, thought leadership, and timeliness. Booz Allen was ranked the highest of all strategy firms in implementation and timeliness and tied with another strategy firm for first place in thought leadership.
