Booz Allen Recognized For Its Corporate Citizenship
Two Washington, DC, based organizations honor Booz Allen for its commitment to corporate citizenship and community service.
Two Washington, DC, area organizations saluted Booz Allen Hamilton in May 2001 for its belief that good business and good corporate citizenship go together. The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce bestowed its annual Blue Diamond Award on the firm for its corporate citizenship and community service. The Post-Newsweek Business Information (PNBI) group awarded Booz Allen a citation for its corporate citizenship during the 14th Annual Greater Washington Region High Tech Awards.
"Our employees are the award winners," said Booz Allen's Director of Community Relations, Steve Delfin, as he accepted the Blue Diamond Award on behalf of Booz Allen. "They are the ones who volunteer countless hours serving on non-profit boards, rebuilding homes, serving meals at homeless shelters, working with our community's at-risk children, and raising money to fight diseases."
In April, the Northern Virginia Community Foundation announced that it will honor Booz Allen's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ralph Shrader with its 18th annual Community Leadership Award this fall. Dr. Shrader is chairman of The Neediest Kids, a Washington, DC, area charity that provides clothes and other supplies to at-risk students. He is also a former chairman of the American Cancer Society's Capital Barons' Ball.
