Capital Baron's Ball

In 2001, Booz Allen Chairman and CEO Ralph W. Shrader served as Honorary Corporate Chairman of the American Cancer Society's Capital Baron's Ball, ACS' most prestigious fundraising event in the greater Washington Metropolitan area. Under Shrader's leadership, the firm committed $100,000 to the ACS — this was in addition to tens of thousands of dollars of in-kind and pro-bono assistance.

Relay for Life

In 2004, Booz Allen's year-round fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society resulted in a contribution of more than $150,000 to 18 Relay for Life Walks nationwide. Over 600 Booz Allen employees and their families walked or ran in the event. Employees also planned and implemented cancer awareness and fundraising efforts at many of our offices. Because of the sustained involvement, the firm earned National Team status in 2003.

Excalibur Award

In recognition of this deep level of commitment, Booz Allen has been annually honored with the American Cancer Society's prestigious Excalibur since 2001.
