Corporate Philanthropy and Community Relations
Booz Allen has a core commitment to corporate philanthropy and community service as part of the firm's broader corporate citizenship.
Corporate Citizenship: Building on The Booz Allen Heritage of Leadership in Philanthropy, Volunteerism and Community Service
Booz Allen believes good business and good corporate citizenship go together--that a firm like ours must reach beyond office walls to understand and embrace charitable, educational and other non-profit organizations working to meet human care needs in communities where Booz Allen employees work and live.
That is why the firm has a core commitment to corporate philanthropy, employee volunteerism and community service in its offices throughout the world.
Employee-Centric Approach
To serve the communities where the Firm operates and where its employees live, Booz Allen has adopted and refined an employee-centric approach to its corporate citizenship activities. This approach forms the cornerstone of the firm's philanthropic and community service initiatives. Employee-centric means the firm aligns its resources - financial, in-kind and pro-bono -- with the charitable giving and volunteering interests of its officers, staff and their families. Employees are encouraged to get involved in the community and are supported by Booz Allen's Community Relations Department to maintain their involvement.
Leadership
Leadership by example is a key aspect of the community service programs and Booz Allen executives are visibly committed to good corporate citizenship. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ralph Shrader exemplifies this commitment. Dr. Shrader serves as Chairman of The Neediest Kids, a Washington metropolitan area charitable organization that raises money to ensure that at-risk school children have clothing and other items essential to their attendance and success in school.
Community Relations Professionals
Booz Allen's Community Relations Department is an integral part of the firm's core corporate services and reports directly to the Office of the Chairman. This positioning reflects the firm's leadership commitment to corporate philanthropy, community service and employee volunteerism. The full time professional staff is supplemented and complemented by volunteer program managers in many Booz Allen offices nationwide and around the world. Booz Allen's Community Relations Departments does not accept unsolicited grant proposals from outside organizations. All requests for funding and support are self-generated or generated by the firm's employees.
