Dr. Shrader Inducted into Business Hall of Fame

Booz Allen’s Chairman and CEO is recognized for his significant contributions to improving the quality of life around the nation’s capital.

Dr. Ralph ShraderOn December 1, 2009, at a gala attended by 1,200 people at the Hilton Washington Hotel, Booz Allen Hamilton Chairman and CEO Dr. Ralph Shrader became one of five inductees into the prestigious Washington Business Hall of Fame. 

The gala is an annual event honoring outstanding leaders who have built successful organizations that fill business and community needs in the greater Washington, D.C. area.  It is also a fundraiser that supports Junior Achievement’s financial literacy programs for local K-12 students.

Under Dr. Shrader’s leadership, Booz Allen underwent a significant period of growth and strategic realignment to become the leading strategy and technology firm with sales of almost $5 billion and a staff of more than 20,000. In 1999, Dr. Shrader was elected as the seventh head of Booz Allen since the firm’s founding in 1914.

An active participant in public forums, Dr. Shrader has spoken on leadership, strategy, and technology topics at major international conferences and graduate business schools in the U.S. and throughout the world. He supports numerous professional and nonprofit organizations, including serving as past chairman of the board of the 40,000-member Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), which also bestowed him with its highest honor, the David Sarnoff Award.

The Washington Business Hall of Fame was founded in 1988 by Washingtonian magazine, the Greater Washington Board of Trade, and Junior Achievement of the National Capital Area.
