Best Places To Work in Huntsville

Booz Allen’s Alabama office again named as Best Place to Work.

For the second consecutive year, Booz Allen Hamilton’s Huntsville office has been recognized as a Best Place to Work.

“Booz Allen is known as a locally based global firm whose staff cares deeply about their clients, colleagues, and the community,” says principal Tom Hancock, who accepted the award on behalf of the firm. “We have an unparalleled workforce and strong value-based standards, and our office has demonstrated strong and sustained business performance with double-digit growth for the past four years.”

Booz Allen was one of 15 companies recognized out of the 100 businesses nominated at the annual Best Places to Work in Huntsville event on April 16, 2009, hosted by the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce and North Alabama Society for Human Resource Management.

The firm’s 228 staff members in Huntsville support a client base that includes the U.S. Army, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the Missile Defense Agency.

Hancock says, “Our staff has camaraderie and respect for our colleagues and a passion for our clients’ missions. Winning companies were selected based on their benefits, policies, and the responses to anonymous employee surveys administered by a market research firm that also tabulated the results. According to the survey, 96% of Booz Allen employees who responded feel valued and trust their senior leaders. The office also scored 92% or above in team effectiveness, alignment with goals, trust in coworkers, individual contribution, probability of retention, and satisfaction with current role.

Hancock says this award is even more meaningful than last year’s: “There were very few repeat awards among the winning companies. This designation is more than a plaque; it serves as a recognition not only of the hard work that our staff members have performed over the past year, but of the outstanding manner in which they have done so.”
