The National Capital Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society recognized Booz Allen Hamilton with the 2006 Corporation of the Year Award for its outstanding support of the Chapter. The company, based in McLean, Va., received the award during the Chapter’s Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. on Dec. 14.
Booz Allen Hamilton has partnered with the Chapter for more than a decade. In 2006, Booz Allen Hamilton served as the Presenting Sponsor of the Ambassadors Ball, ensuring that all funds raised by the Ball would go directly to improving the lives of people affected by MS. The company also contributed to the MS Challenge Walk by recruiting a team of participants, hosting a rest stop, volunteering at the finish and contributing funds to support team members.
Booz Allen Hamilton will continue its support of Chapter events in 2007. On Jan. 9 the company announced that it will serve as the presenting sponsor of the MS Walk, a pledge event that raises more than $1 million to support the Chapter. The 19th Annual MS Walk Presented by Booz Allen Hamilton will be held at six locations throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area on April 14 and 15.
"Booz Allen supports the causes that our employees care about,” said Vice President Karen Dahut. “We have a large number of employees who are deeply committed to the fight against MS, and it was an honor to accept the award to recognize the many hours they have contributed to the cause.”
Booz Allen Hamilton employees have worked with Operation Job Match, the Chapter’s employment initiative to serve people living with MS and other adult-onset physical disabilities. The company also forms participant teams for the MS Walk and MS Bike Ride.
“We are proud to recognize Booz Allen Hamilton for its exceptional dedication to the Chapter, and we appreciate their continued support,” said J. Christopher Broullire, Chapter President of the National Capital Chapter.
