FORTUNE Once Again Names Booz Allen to its List of “100 Best Companies To Work For”
Firm is celebrated for its corporate culture, which allows its employees, and its business, to thrive.
For the third year in a row, FORTUNE magazine has named Booz Allen Hamilton to its annual “100 Best Companies To Work For” list. Booz Allen was ranked 19th out of the large-sized companies and 63rd overall.
FORTUNE cited flexible work schedules and the Holiday Kids Club — all-day excursions for staff members’ children held on school holidays — as two examples of what makes Booz Allen such a great firm to work for. The complete list of companies and related stories appear in the January 22, 2007, issue of FORTUNE and on www.fortune.com.
About the Survey
The “100 Best Companies To Work For” list is compiled for FORTUNE by the Great Place to Work Institute in San Francisco, CA, based on two criteria: an evaluation of the policies and culture of each company, and the opinions of the company's employees. The latter is given more weight; two-thirds of the total score comes from employee responses to a 57-question survey that goes to a minimum of 400 randomly selected employees from each company. The remaining one-third of the score is based on an evaluation of each company's demographic makeup, pay and benefits programs, and culture.
Companies are scored in four areas: credibility (communication to employees), respect (opportunities and benefits), fairness (compensation, diversity), and pride/camaraderie (philanthropy, celebrations).
