George M. Schu Booz Allen Hamilton Senior Vice President George Schu supports the assurance and resilience efforts in the firm’s federal and commercial markets. His primary functional areas include:
Mr. Schu is active in government and industry associations, such as the Industry Advisory Council (IAC), National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO), and Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association (AFCEA). He was a member of NASCIO’s privacy and security committee, and he worked closely with federal and state government officials and partners to develop easy-to-use, affordable solutions for trusted government-to-citizen, government-to-government, and government-to-business services to meet needs such as homeland security and eGovernment. Before joining Booz Allen in 2007, Mr. Schu assisted in the growth of the VeriSign business, delivering a range of cybersecurity and critical infrastructure services. He also supported the government market at Oracle, where he specialized in software solutions for government. Now retired from the U.S. Navy as a Cryptologist, Mr. Schu served as commanding officer of Corry Station, a major training base in Florida. He had total responsibility for the well-being of 3,000 staff and students and continuity of base operations in the face of common Gulf Coast natural disasters. He trained members of all services and foreign students in cybersecurity, electronic warfare, and cryptology. He served on the staff of the Commander of the Sixth Fleet in Italy, where he was responsible for coordinating the information warfare resources of all U.S. government and allied partners in the Mediterranean Sea. In Washington, Mr. Schu coordinated cross-agency support for Operation Desert Storm, and represented the Director of Naval Intelligence in collection tasking and policy, among other services. Mr. Schu holds a master’s degree from Georgetown University, and is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
