Tom Moorman

A recognized thought leader, he is a frequent speaker at national and international space forums and has published articles on numerous aerospace topics such as transforming the U.S. space industrial base to defense transformation and unmanned aerial vehicles.  In 2004, Space News named Mr. Moorman as one of the top ten most noteworthy contributors to the U.S. space program. 

Mr. Moorman has received Booz Allen's Professional Excellence Award, which was given in recognition of outstanding and innovative client service on an assignment for the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Moorman joined Booz Allen after serving more than 35 years in the United States Air Force, culminating with his assignment as Vice Chief of Staff.  As Vice Chief of Staff, he oversaw and managed the day-to-day activities of the Air Staff at the Pentagon, including budgeting, programming, and administration.  He also chaired the Air Force Council, which finalized all programming proposals. 

Mr. Moorman also acted as the Air Force representative to a number of joint and interagency organizations, including the Joint Resources Oversight Committee and the Quadrennial Defense Review. He chaired the Air Force Board of Directors and was  charged with developing the Air Force strategic vision for the 21st Century.  This vision included the examination of the Air Force education and training needs for the new millennium.

Mr. Moorman is Vice Chairman of the Space Foundation, a member of the Board of Directors of the National Space Club, a Trustee of the Falcon Foundation, chair of a Space Panel of USSTRATCOM Senior Advisory Group, a member of the Air Force Association's Science and Technology Committee, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a member of the Cosmos Club. 

Mr. Moorman holds a BA degree from Dartmouth College, MA degree in Political Science from Auburn University, and a MA degree in Business Administration from Western New England College.  He has also been awarded two honorary degrees – a Doctorate in Management from Colorado Tech and a Doctorate of Laws from Clemson University.
