David J. Karp Booz Allen Hamilton Senior Vice President Dave Karp oversees the firm's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) account and our broad-based business across the Pacific including Hawaii, Korea, Guam, Japan, and Alaska. He serves as Officer in Charge of our business with Joint Program Executive Office (PEO) Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) and PEO Space Communications Systems. Mr. Karp works closely with Booz Allen staff in Northern Virginia, San Diego, Charleston, Norfolk, and Crystal City. He regularly visits these and other locations. Mr. Karp has 30 years of professional experience between Booz Allen Hamilton and the U.S. Navy, including 6 years of active duty and 12 years as a reservist (while at Booz Allen). Prior to Booz Allen Mr. Karp was a commissioned Naval Officer with expertise in C4I, weapons, and combat systems afloat and ashore. Since joining Booz Allen in 1985, Mr. Karp has supported increasingly senior clients on engagements ranging from C4ISR Systems Acquisition to Mission/Strategy Assessment & Support to Planning, Programming and Budgeting. Mr. Karp served as the Client Service Officer (CSO) of Booz Allen’s Navy and Marine Corps business for four years. He led development of the Marine Corps business at Booz Allen—starting with Marine Corps Headquarters and the Marine Corps Systems Command—and has more recently moved into supporting the MARFORs, MEFs, and other operating staffs and commands. Mr. Karp helped lead the transition of the SPAWAR team from Crystal City to San Diego in the mid 1990s and helped build the firm’s support to SPAWAR HQ, the PEOs, and the SPAWAR System Centers. He helped build and broaden the firm’s business in support of the OPNAV staff in Washington DC, Pacific area clients at PACOM and the Service Components, and a wide range of other Navy and Marine Corps clients. Mr. Karp has served in a number of roles in recent years that offer insight and value to the firm’s clients. He participated in the Joint C4ISR Professional Community, the Mission Integration and BRAC campaigns, and a host of large defense procurements. He serves as the Capability Development Officer (CDO) for the firm’s new Mission & Industry Expertise (M&IE) Expertise Center of Excellence. Additionally, Mr. Karp is the Location Leader for Booz Allen's presence in the Western Region encompassing California and all offices in the Pacific. Mr. Karp is a member of the National Defense Industry Association (NDIA) and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), where he serves on the Board. Mr. Karp holds a B.S. degree in Naval Architecture from the U.S. Naval Academy, and a Masters Degree in Engineering Management from George Washington University.
