A Senior Vice President with Booz Allen Hamilton’s IT business, Michael Farber has more than 25 years of experience providing IT strategy, management architecture, and design services to public and private sector organizations. These include federal civilian, defense, and national security agencies and oversight institutions; and commercial clients across the health, energy, consumer products, and media industries. Mr. Farber also helps lead the firm’s IT Strategy and Architecture & Design Centers of Excellence.

Mr. Farber’s 450+-person team specializes in the formulation and implementation of practical IT strategies and solutions that facilitate the transformation of federal and commercial organizations, allowing them to tighten control over the management of their IT resources and improve business and mission performance; facilitate information sharing to support business intelligence, analytics, and knowledge management; drive innovation; and to gain and sustain competitive advantage.

Mr. Farber and his team worked with the Office of Management and Budget and the Federal CIO Council to establish government-wide requirements, training, and a toolset for IT portfolio management, capital planning, and investment control. They also created the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA), which develops government-wide reference models for performance, business, data, services, components, and IT communications and infrastructure.

Booz Allen’s work on the FEA has been leveraged by state and local governments, international governments such as Australia and Canada, and commercial entities that include Warner Bros., Volkswagen of North America, and Microsoft.

Mr. Farber’s team has supported federal clients such as the Environmental Protection Agency; NASA; and Departments of Energy, Labor, Justice, Transportation, Interior, Education, and Housing and Urban Development.

Mr. Farber received the Federal100 Award for his EA work and impact across the federal government, and is a frequent keynote speaker on contemporary IT topics. He graduated from Columbia University with a MPA in public policy and administration.
