Karen Dahut Based at Booz Allen Hamilton’s McLean headquarters, Karen Dahut is a Senior Vice President who leads a team that provides cost, economic, and financial analysis, including cost estimating, investment analysis, business planning, and performance measurement analysis to the defense, intelligence, homeland security, and civil government agency communities. Ms. Dahut oversees the generation of business cases, cost/benefit analyses, lifecycle cost estimates, and capital asset plans that form the basis of senior decision making and budget formulation. Her expertise includes:
Ms. Dahut has extensive experience developing and implementing tools and methodologies to improve the planning, managing, and budgeting of capital assets for the federal government. She led a team of Booz Allen consultants who provided clients with innovative solutions for asset management and investment projects. Her engagements include leading a transformation for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service; driving innovative financial solutions and improving processes for the military services; and leading asset management improvement programs in the Department of Defense, General Services Administration, NASA, and Department of State. Prior to joining Booz Allen, Ms. Dahut was an officer in the U.S. Navy and served in numerous positions including controller for the Navy’s premier Research Institute. She also worked for a commercial organization managing a team that provided asset management and economic consulting to federal government and private sector clients. A frequent speaker at financial management- and asset management-related conferences, Ms. Dahut received her M.S. degree in systems management from the University of Southern California and her B.S. in finance from Mount Saint Mary’s University. profile updated March 2009 |
