Gary Rahl Based in McLean and specializing in environmental management for public and private sector clients, Senior Vice President Gary Rahl is a leader of Booz Allen Hamilton’s environmental business. Mr. Rahl spearheads the client support agenda with his deep understanding of:
Through Mr. Rahl’s efforts, Booz Allen has achieved preeminent position in environmental and installation management consulting across the U.S. Department of Defense. He has led and participated in the design and implementation of environmental management systems, the development of environmental regulation, the development of enterprise geospatial information management systems, as well as detailed environmental audits and compliance assistance visits. Recent engagements include:
Mr. Rahl is a sought after speaker on sustainability for airports, and for development of green strategy by public and private sector enterprises. He co-authored “Unrecognized Assets,” a discussion of accounting approaches for environmental assets, and “The Environment: Let’s Get it Right This Time”, a discussion of the environmental consequences of infrastructure renewal and development, both of which were published in strategy+business. Mr. Rahl joined the firm after serving as a U.S. Navy officer at Naval Nuclear Propulsion program headquarters. There, he led the development of guidance for integration of environmental, safety, and occupational health considerations into major weapons system design and acquisition programs at the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). Mr. Rahl earned an M.P.P. degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and two B.S. degrees in aeronautics and astronautics and humanities from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. profile updated April 2009 |
