Catherine Nelson
Senior Vice President Catherine Nelson leads Booz Allen Hamilton’s financial management, cost and economic analysis, budget planning and formulation, and other quantitative advanced analytic and program management capabilities for the firm’s Homeland Security and Law Enforcement markets.
Ms. Nelson has more than 25 years of experience developing and delivering a broad array of consulting services targeted to the full financial management and accounting life cycle and related business systems modernization for both public and private clients.
A recognized expert in financial management and the public sector CFO agenda, Ms. Nelson is responsible for providing senior-level expertise to clients seeking financial management, accounting, internal controls, budget improvement, and operational support, as well as implementing commercial off-the-shelf business systems.
Ms. Nelson joined the firm in 2003. Prior to joining Booz Allen, she worked for several consulting firms providing financial management consulting and business systems development and implementation support, including Logistics Management Institute, ICF and Arthur Young & Company.
Ms. Nelson is a certified Project Management Professional and Certified Government Financial Manager. She is also a member of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) and a representative to the AGA’s Corporate Partner Advisory Group. She earned an MBA in finance and accounting and a B.A. in economics, both from Duke University.
